Tricia opened her private practice in September 2005. Since, she has provided services to children from 22 months to 19 years of age. Private practice is an environment to make a significant impact on the child or adolescent with a speech/language disorder due to the focus on family and function. The parents are involved in each session with verbal and written information about the goals and intervention. Therefore, carry-over of the therapy is more likely to take place at home, as the parents are familiar with the approach and expectations. When a new skills is practiced in the natural environment for the child he/she is able to solidify that skill into a function of their daily life.
